Matcha tea

What is matcha tea?

Matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea. It is special in two aspects of farming and processing: the green tea plants for matcha are shade-grown for about three weeks before harvest, and the stems and veins are removed in processing. During shaded growth, the plant Camellia sinensis produces more theanine and caffeine. This combination of chemicals is considered to account for the calm energy people might feel from drinking matcha.

What unique properties of matcha support weight loss?

Already nearly calorie free, matcha is a great addition to a weight loss program by tackling the problem from both sides. It boosts metabolism and burns fat. One recent study even suggested that matcha may help burn calories by four times. At the same time, matcha does not put any stress on the body. It doesn’t raise blood pressure or heart rate, making it a safe alternative to questionable quick fixes or pharmaceuticals ridden with side effects.

A study featured in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body’s own rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy expenditure, to between 35% and 43% of daily energy expediture.

My matcha tea

I can say that I love matcha green tea. I seriously love the flavor, and knowing it's a great source of antioxidants makes me more excited to include the matcha tea on my diet.

Everyday when I wake up I have matcha tea blend with lemon, collagen and ginger. It's the best kick of drink of the day.

During the day I create others nice recipes with matcha tea. I love matcha so much that you can easily just make a cup of hot or cold green tea or even a green tea latte. Or a great dessert, or a cake, even a pancake or ice team.

The Matcha is also often used to flavor and dye foods such as noodles, ice cream, and mochi. As of late, there are numerous green tea flavored products such as green tea KitKat chocolate bars, pizzas, drinks, and many more!

That's shows as much as I like matcha tea.

Where do I buy the matcha tea?
