Banoffee pie recipe

This homemade banoffee pie is one of our favourite desserts here at home. The banoffee pie remind my home town Brazil due the caramel sauce that looks like our dulce de leche. The Brazilian people loves desserts made with condensed milk or dulce de leche.
For this classic recipe , I used the simple ready made caramel Sauce and the crushed gluten free biscuit base.
It’s an impressive delicious traditional dessert, and it’s also easy to make.
If you don't have the ready made caramel sauce or even the dulce de leche, there is two ways to make your own caramel sauce.
Caramel sauce recipe:
1 - cook the condensed milk in the pressure pan for at least 30 min
2 - ingredients
* 100g butter
* 100g dark brown soft sugar
* 1 can Condensed Milk
Method
Melt the butter and sugar into a non-stick saucepan over a low heat, stirring all the time until the sugar has dissolved. Add the condensed milk and bring to a rapid boil for about a minute, stirring all the time for a thick golden caramel. Spread the caramel over the base, cool and then chill for about 1 hour, until firm or until ready to serve.
RECIPE
For the base:

* 2 tbsp butter or coconut oil , melted
* 250g sugar free biscuits, crushed
For the caramel:
* It's your choice to make one or to buy ready made
For the top:
* 2 bananas
* 300ml carton whipping cream or double cream, lightly whipped
* grated chocolate or cocoa powder
Method
Step 1

Put the biscuit crumbs in a bowl, then tip in the melted butter or coconut oil and mix it all together. Spoon this into the base and press against the bottom and sides – this is the base of the banoffee pie recipe. Chill it for ten minutes.
Step 2
Add the caramel sauce on the top of the biscuit crumbs
Step 3

Slice the bananas over the caramel sauce; softly whipped cream and spoon over the base. Finish with the grated chocolate.

Enjoy it!!
