Destination - Cancun
by Kerllen Bittencourt Rego

I lived in Mexico City from 2003 to 2005, and I have been completely in love for the country.  In November 2017, we decided to spend the Christmas and the new year in Cancun , it was the best choice ever. As we had been in Cancun in 2003 , we knew already that there are countless reasons why Cancun is an amazing holiday destination.

As our decision to go away was taken just 1 month before our holiday , we had lucky to find the best package deal at Thomson. I can admit that they are one of the best on the market. Why? The prices are a big deal here , they’re affordable and very realistic. You get in flight entertainment, meals, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and all the extra conveniences you would expect on your usual long flight and during your holiday .

Hotel

We stayed at the Crown Paradise Cancun all inclusive .

The view from the balcony was stunning . We were in our own little slice of heaven,  I have to say that if there is one thing that really made our holiday , it was the child care facilities.

The Kids Paradise Club for children 4 to 12 years old was excellent. It is a large fenced-in area with a pool with multiple water slides, a jungle gym and eating/craft area. Each hour was broken down into swim time, free time, arts'n'crafts time, lunch time, etc. The staffs were  excellent with the kids.

Every night at 7:30 pm they meet up for the night activities, there  were different activities every night including parties and theatre , the children were never bored, they enjoyed a lot.

They also have a great kids golf pitch . It’s a great activity for all family.

While the children was enjoying the night activities with many other children, we had chance to enjoy ourselves in one of the restaurants. Precious time !

My daughter birthday was celebrating at the hotel,
they have prepared so many surprised for her  that  made our day !!

One of the big surprises were at the bedroom. They really know how to hostess the guests .

The hotel itself is huge and green . There were over 800 rooms with an open air lobby, five pools, five restaurants and numerous bars and snack bars. Three water slides are great fun for kids and for the adults too.  We had so much fun with our kids at the water slides.

CROWN PARADISE RESTAURANTS & BARS

The food was outstanding. The buffet was open all day for all three meals. In addition to the usual steam tables, salad bars, cold cut bars and dessert tables, there were made to order pancake/waffle, omelette, and fruit smoothie stations at breakfast.

We had breakfast in the main restaurant every morning enjoying the incredible buffet with tropical fruit, tortillas , green juice, omelette....

At lunch we had many choices from pool side bars, such as hotdogs, chips, nachos, oriental bar, taco stations and the main restaurant with a huge buffet, desserts and ice cream.

There are five restaurants open for dinner. Reservations had to be made . There was a steak house, Caribbean, Italian, Mexican and "adults-only" French themed restaurants . We tried all, the food were incredible and the service were excellent.

This was honestly some of the best food I’ve had in my entire life.
I am still dreaming about the matcha creme brûlée .

The hotel facilities in general were extensive, well-maintained and user-friendly.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel was one of friendly and attentive service.

Cancun has the most vibrant, turquoise waters I have ever seen in my entire life. They were stunning. They honestly looked photoshop in real life. I could not get over them.

Every day I woke up at 6:00 am for a 10 km running and to go to the hotel gym,
that it is also incredible.

At 8:00 I was ready to enjoy all day with my family.

We spent our days laying down in the chairs, laughing, and walking on the beach.

Of course, we have to mention the stunning sunsets over the ocean.

Activities

During our staying in Cancun we went to the town, shopping and we visited some amazing places, we went to the town  and we did some aquatic sports.

I can admit that it was a precious family time .

I cannot forget to mention that there are bus facilities in the hotel. It was very handy.

Swimming with Dolphins.

That was one of the most expected activities for my children. They were dreaming for this big day. On Natalie’s birthday, we surprised them with the dolphins.
It was a magical time .

Aquaworld

Arriving at Aqua World  we went by boat from the lagoon to the see.
The view was amazing and we enjoyed every single time on the boat .

Getting to the place, we went for the Subsee Explorer where we had an incredible experience, Over there we appreciated the Nizuc Hall of the MUSA Underwater Museum of Art.

It is incredible to see as all was created. The natural reef was created to combine art with nature; the life sized statues are made with marine clay and promote the growth of coral as well as providing habitat for fish and marine life.

Then we went to Snorkel at the Niozuc Coral Reefs . I can admit that it is gorgeous and unique.

If you have children under 10 I recommend asking for a floating board for the little one doesn’t getting tired in the middle of the see as mine did .

Subwing

Being passionate for sports I love to encourage my children to have the same passion. Sports is a therapy for everyone .

We had the enormous opportunity to swim like a dolphin in the Caribbean Sea with @nautikadventours . Absolutely stunning.

We meet up in the lagoon and they took us to the sea by boat . Incredible experience.

Xcarete

It was our first time in Xcaret and we weren’t sure what to expect. We heard amazing reviews about the attraction but we didn’t know what it was all about.

Our trip was well organised by The Best Day travel. Everything was perfect.
The van picked us up on time from the hotel to Xcarete .

As soon as we crossed the entrance we were immersed in its magical and captivating ambience.

The Xcarete is located in the beautiful Riviera Maya, only a few minutes south of Playa del Carmen, Experiencias Xcaret is one of the largest theme parks in Mexico with more than 50 attractions.

There is lines with different Colours to be followed. All depends on the ticket that you have bought. I highly recommend to buy the Plus with one meal including. The food and drinks are quite expensive and it’s better to have paid for them .

Our first stop was the pyramids following the stunning beach and

one of the most beautiful aquarium that I have been.

The girls enjoyed the children’s world

and we all swimming at the Underground Rivers.

As we knew that one day wasn’t enough to see all the attractions,
we have chosen for 2 cultural one .

The Horse Exhibition this show combines the elements of Mexican horsemanship with typical music and colours of Mexico.

The mariachis were one of the big attractions.

And the unforgettable Xcaret Mexico Espectacular . With an advanced technology, incredible costumes and an impeccable set design. The Show take us to a journey through Mexico´s History going all the way from the pre-Hispanic times and reaching up to the modern days.

After 15 days well spent in Cancun I can say that these moments will keep forever in our lives .

The best and most beautiful things in the word cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart!

Thank you all that made our holiday better than ever.
